Project Description: The project contemplated consists of the demolition, salvage, and disposal of all above ground structures, slabs-on-grade and all associated foundation and footings to a depth of 3 feet below grade at the following properties: 4601 W. State Street, Milwaukee WI (3 story building with basement) 4200 W. Monarch Place, Milwaukee, W1 (1 story building) It also includes demolition and removal of basement walls and below grade structural piers to the same level as the existing basement floor at the 4601 State Street parcel. The concrete slab which is the existing basement floor at this property shall be broken up and left in place except as noted in the specification. The cavity remaining above the broken slab shall be backfilled with clean fill. Regrading and restoration after demolition is also included. The project also includes demolition, salvage, and disposal of above ground buildings and equipment at the following combined property: 5061 W. State Street, Milwaukee, WI and 4900 W. James Street, Milwaukee, WI (which together are known as the Central Ready Mix site with 5 buildings and other structures) Slabs on grade and retaining walls shall be left in place except as noted in the specifications. Some fencing as noted shall also be removed. No restoration or regrading is required at this property. Demolition includes disconnection and abandonment of all utilities, and removal of asbestos containing materials and friable lead based paint materials prior to demolition. It also includes removal, salvage, recycling or disposal of all machinery, equipment, and demolition debris. There will be a mandatory Prebid Conference and mandatory tour of the project site at 1 p.m., the 9th of March, 2006 at MMSD Headquarters, 260 West Seeboth Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The tour of the project sites will commence at 4601 State Street thirty (30) minutes after conclusion of the Prebid Conference.
