TRIMMING SHINGLES
NEED YOUR HELP HERE! I FINISHED THE ROOF ON THE 24' X 24' GARAGE I'M BUILDING. HOWEVER, I STILL NEED TO CUT THE SHINGLES ON THE ENDS TO MAKE THEM EVEN. WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD TO GET THE ENDS PERFECT AND STRAIGHT?

Re: TRIMMING SHINGLES
We snap a chalk line then cut with a sharp hook knife. Start from the top
and work down. The temperature of the shingle is one of the most important factors to making a clean cut. To cut and they are very hard to cut and too warm and they bunch in the blade. We like to cut in the morning after the sun has hit the for 10 or 15 minutes or when ever works.
