stretching carpet over steps
Doing a small remodling job for my landlord and need to stretch some carpet over a few steps. I've laid and stretched carpet before, but never on steps.

I know I have not done this before , but I've got the tools and the common sense to keep me busy and my clients happy. So stretch from bottom up or vise versa? Tack and staple where...?

start at the bottom. Measure and cut, whatever length you have, take a "tight" measurement. Staple the first rise , low and often, move up to your first tread, "kick" it and stretch it tight, staple the chit out of it right in the "seam" of the riser, smash that seam with your "stair tool" to make a nice line.
