Sheet rock blocking
Hi,
I’ have read somewhere that by using 2x3 or 2x4 blocking instead of 1x3 on exterior walls, you save time on , by not having to drill for wiring, no taping elect. Boxes (vapor barrier), not disturbing insulation, the only 2 things I see; loose 1" of space, more$ for 2x3...what do you guys think? And is it better to run them horiz. 24"oc or vert. 16"oc...

I'm not familiar with using 1x3 blocking on exterior walls. What is it for?

That's what I thought you meant but I've never seen it done except on ceilings to make them level and true.
