Main Water Line Size
Building new home and I am going to run the main line. House is 400' from meter and about a 30" rise in elevation. Meter is 5/8 line with 3/4 connections. Plumber suggested a 1 1/2" PVC line to house but this seems big to me. Would like some feedback on this,

We use 1" or 3/4 in Texas. 1 1/2 definitely seems large.

Re: Main Water Line Size
Interesting that when the utility company was installing the meter he was about to put in a 3/4" meter. I asked if he had a 1" and he said he usually did just didn't have one on the truck? He offered to come back later with a 1" meter and that is what I had him do. Good thing I was there.

Before the trench was buried I installed a "T" and ran a 1 1/4" line to where the double back flow valve for the sprinkle/drip irrigation system will go.
