Floor Furnace 
I was told by another plumber friend that if you install a floor furnace in a hallway you need to have a total of 33" around the heater. Now is he pulling my leg because there is no hallway 47" wide. Can you comment on that for me please?

Yes your friend is correct. Only on new installations.(this is how I interrupt the code) You can get the proper information from your local Building & Safety Inspector because he has the authority to make the proper judgment call. Even though it may be an existing condition the combination Inspector will make the final call. Don't make the call yourself and do it because he just might see it a different way and T.D. your job.
