Dryer Shuts Off Suddenly
My 10 year old Maytag has a problem and I thought they never did as per the commercials. The machine will turn on (glows, flame) and after a short duration (15 seconds) shuts off suddenly. It'll then take about 2 minutes to come on line again. I renewed the HT thermostat and outlet duct thermostat. If I bypass (connect the leads) the HT thermostat the machine runs and doesn't cut-out. WHERE/WHAT is the next logical step to take to fix the problem.

Sounds like bad split coils that sit on top of burner.
For fun try tapping coils, if it starts and does the same thing, replace them. You will have to really observe how they go on. Can be confusing to a novice or someone with 10 thumbs. If no go, bring burner assembly to a goodshop. Call around for best deal.
