Dry Stack for Foundation Wall?
A post the other day lead me to look into dry stack blocks with Quikrete Quikwall topping as an alternative to conventional buttered blocks. Is this method of construction acceptable for a foundation wall? Is it as strong/stronger as mortared block wall would be? Will it hold together while grouting cells? And is any special block required or do you use standard blocks?

The area in which I build has no code and no inspections, so I can do what I want. The quikwall really looks appealing for time savings, accuracy, etc but it needs to be as good as or better than the regular way. Any thoughts?

Re: Dry Stack for Foundation Wall?
If I did not have concrete block sitting out on my building site right now ready to be laid then I would very seriously consider the dry stack method in combination with the Quikwall product. I believe it was on another house forum site I read where a lifelong concrete block layer was very impressed with the strength and quality of these new light weight dry stack blocks. Maybe someone can tell you the name of the better block systems.
I've been conversing with Quirked technical for the Quikwall application on my soon to be motored block ans either way it’s an excellent product.
