Do flyers really work?
My dad (owner, starter, now retired of an elevator company) suggested to me this morning that we stick flyers on people's mailboxes (when I told him it's illegal to stick things IN them). does this really work or do people think you're cheesy?

I also thought of scoping the neighborhoods for roof or siding jobs and sending them a letter. Quoting resale statistics, energy savings, blah blah. Good idea? Bad idea?

I also want to put together a marketing packet for when we present proposals.

I figure we can put a little "who we are" in there, some stats and comments related to the project they are looking into, a list of references, some pictures of similar projects, our business card and of course the proposal itself.

Do any of you guys have something like this?
