Demolition Power Tool
Right now I’m tearing down interior walls in my remodel job.

The walls I’m tearing down are the original extremely neglected plasterboard walls.

Behind the plasterboard where the walls meet the ceiling there is a heavy wire mesh. The only part of the plasterboard I’m trying to preserve is the ceiling because my ceilings are in fair condition.

SO...I have to cut the wire mesh where it meets the ceiling so I don't screw up the ceiling plaster. I'm using a freak in chisel to accomplish this mission. The chisel works but it’s extremely time consuming.

Does anyone make a rotary saw or grinder type of tool that will cut through the pester and through the wire mesh?

I was thinking maybe a dermal? I also found another tool called the Fein Multimaster that may work.

Any ideas?

A rotary tool will work really well. You can put a mason blade on a circular saw. If you go this route though, wear a respirator (not a filter mask) and the biggest goggles you can find. It will cloud a room in 30 seconds.

I'd try a recip. saw with a metal/multi-purpose blade. Definitely bag the chisel.

Or, you can hammer all the plaster and then just rip the wire out with gloves. Plaster is clean fill if you keep out nails and wood chips.
