Air Tools
Can anyone give me a rating and ranking on air tool brands? I'm gift shopping and don't have a clue as to best vs. least as they alllll look the same to me! Thanks much in advance!

Re: Air Tools
Everyone has their preference and personal experience, but I like Porter Cable. I have their nailers and love them. I hear awesome things about Senco nailers and Hitachi is a possibility too. Craftsman is pretty cheap. And by cheap I mean crap. Their hand tools are pretty good, but I've seen craftsman air wrenches die an early death. If you want the top of the line, look at Snap-On.

Re: Air Tools
Thanks for the tip. I found out that Chicago Pneumatic makes Craftsman air tools. I have seen a couple sets that have the air ratchet, impact wrench and air hammer, but the brands and prices vary so much that it's hard to tell. Also, I see all these different brands....ie Rockford, Husky, etc., I'm sure someone makes the tools and the other companies put their brands on them, but I can't seem to find out who makes the tools for some of these lower priced items. It's a bit frustrating when you don't have a lot of $$ to spend, and you want to get the most for it!

Re: Air Tools
Last year when I did my addition I bought an air compressor which came with a set of pneumatic tools. It is a Husky from Home Depot. In my opinion the tools seem underpowered somehow. Wouldn't break any of the lugs free on my truck, the grinder took little pressure to stop the wheel, etc. My father-in-law owns a tire shop and has pneumatic tools that are the poop...but not sure what brand they are.
